I met Kate and Ryan at their home a few weeks ago. They are such a COOL couple, their style is so fun and I immediately fell in love with both of them.
They are expecting their first baby, affectionately nicknamed ‘Squish’. Kate has the cutest little belly and was really up for anything. I cannot WAIT to go back and meet Squish in person.

They are such a beautiful family and she is still one of my favorite people to photograph!

This was the word that kept popping in my head when I was editing this maternity session.
The gorgeous mom-and-dad-to-be had so many creative ideas and were up for anything.
But more than that, there was a closeness, a happiness between these two that was very easy to see.
They were in an intimate world, just the two of them, and I was lucky enough to be there to capture it.

Soon their family will double (yes, there are twins in that tiny little belly) and while their world may not be as small, I
am absolutely positive that they have more than enough love to make their household seem cozy and secure and . . .

intimate.

Jay and Izzy are pretty awesome too. In fact, the three of them make the best photos. Now that there’s four of them, it’s only going to get better. I’m so excited that this wonderful family keeps bringing me back, because I LOVE THEM!

As most of you know, I’m taking off to Italy for the better part of September. Which couldn’t be worse timing business-wise because fall portrait season in Calgary is the busiest season of all. So to make sure I am able to fit all my clients in, I am opening up two full days of mini-sessions. This year there’s a choice to what kind of setting you’d like – on September 5th we are doing colorful and “urban” style sessions at Eau Claire Market and on October 3rd we’ll be at Baker Park for some beautiful and cool looking nature backgrounds. Each mini session lasts 20 minutes and you will receive a gallery of approximately 10-15 images.
The session fee is $250 and includes (drumroll please) ONE digital file of an image you choose!
Digital files are not usually sold individually and are priced as a set at $3500, so this is an AMAZING opportunity!
Prints, canvases, storyboards and holiday cards are also available at regular price, and a full set of digital files from your mini-session is $1250. It’s a great chance for a quick taste of the Fresh Sugar experience, great for family portraits, maternity images and child photographs! I’m excited to share some of these because she was just glowing. I know it’s a cliche for pregnant women, but she really was! You’ll see. Oh, and the body? She was exactly 10 days away from her due date in these photos. FOR REAL.

I absolutely love it, I think it still showcases the bright, colourful Fresh Sugar style but also has a more grown-up feel that reflects our fabulous clients!

One thing you might notice is the address – I’m now the proud owner of freshsugar.com – which literally took 6 years to get! www.freshsugar.ca is still around, but will send you to the .com. So it’s easier than ever to get to the site!
The new site has a new look, new photos, a new gallery and videos! Have I mentioned that it’s new?

The new gallery is called the heartwork and it’s a gallery dedicated to my own first photography loves – my children. I always have such a great response when I blog images of my girls, and I’ve decided to have a gallery just for them. Here you will find funny moments, and some of my more out of the box and creative work.

Be sure to take a look at the video section to see some examples of client videos I’ve done this past year. Video is always free of charge to include with your session, and a slideshow of video and images is complimentary at purchases of $3500 and over. The videos are designed to just be little tiny additions to your session to help document this moment in time.
