It was a real joy to spend a day taking photos of two people so much in love, as I did on Saturday.
Little did I realize that I am doing this with all of my sessions, I maybe just didn’t notice it before!
As I edited these images yesterday, I was literally moved to tears at some of the tender expressions on dad-to-be’s face when he looked at his wife and unborn child.
At the time, I was my usual jokey self, and while Rhonda was all about the maternity portraits, her husband’s mind was on getting to his golf game. Or so I thought.
It’s easy for me to assume that so many dads aren’t into the photo-taking thing, because well – so many dads aren’t into the photo taking thing! LOL
But maybe it’s more of a gruff exterior, or maybe if I can help the guys to forget I’m even there, their love and their emotion will take over, and the images will do the talking for them.
Thank you for a beautiful session you guys, and I can’t wait to meet the little one!

allie - oh my goodness, that first one, dad’s expression- that image as a whole melts me. these are truly incredible, what you captured here is magical- amazing work.
Marmalade - love the interaction and closeness. relationship style maternity images are some of my favorites and what a spectacular way to capture that relationship between husband & wife pre baby. I think they will flip and want one of every one once they see these.
