I love this family. LOVE them! I love when I run into them at the ballet, when we chat on Facebook, and especially when we have a session.
Bella obviously means the world to them, she is loved in a such a wonderful way. She’s a confident, beautiful young lady, and has a natural flair.
She is the most perfect little model one could ever hope for, with THE most gorgeous alabaster skin. Thanks again for such a fab day, and we’ll talk soon!

Did I mention she has flair? A flair for the dramatic, hahaha!

Don’t Hate Her Because She’s Beautiful

I have been so super lucky to get the MOST beautiful pregnant ladies in Calgary as my clients. It’s so much fun, it’s like photographing models. (Which, yes – this particular client was, lol)
There’s something just so fantastic about a maternity session – the whole “you’re glowing” thing really isn’t a myth. This session was made even better because her husband couldn’t stop raving about her beauty.
What a wonderful home for a baby to be born into – where mom and dad and just so in love and happy. Thank you both for trusting me with your memories, I know how important they are to you.

This little girl was absolutely SO sweet for our session. It was great meeting this new family of three, they are wonderful people with a very happy and relaxed laid-back attitude. What was the best part for me though, we how absolutely IN LOVE dad was with his wife and new daughter. I don’t know what’s going to happen to any boys that come knocking, because something tells me that daddy’s going to be protective. There’s just something so sweet about a big guy that is so gentle with this little bitty baby.

Oh my goodness, the cuteness!

I want to share so many images from this session, but Shannon has been waiting long enough for her sneak peek so these will have to due so I can get back to work on her gallery.
I loved, loved, loved this family and they loved, loved, loved each other. A big age gap between brother and sister, and I swear it makes me want to wait 15 years and have another baby just so my heart can melt at how sweet an older sibling can be with a new baby.
We headed on down to Eau Claire here in Calgary, and it was a gorgeous sunny day. What, you don’t remember what those are? Me neither, lol!
I love when clients are easy going and relaxed, and this family was perfect. They are all so adorable, I almost couldn’t stand the cuteness. It was such a happy-go-lucky day, and when they wanted to treat their little girl with her first ice cream cone after the session – I had to invite myself along to take pictures! She is a little rockstar, from her snappy little fingers down to her tiny painted toes. L.O.V.E. her!

Her First Mother’s Day – calgary maternity photography

It was my absolute pleasure to meet this couple a few weeks ago for the maternity session for their upcoming arrival.

I love getting to do a maternity session before a newborn session because it gives me a chance to get to know the mom and dad, and for them to feel more comfortable in the camera. But what I love most about these sessions is just how much fun they are. I love taking my maternity clients to fun places and trying new things. I love how gorgeous and glowing they look, and how cute maternity clothes are! I love how their husbands look lovingly at them, like their wife is the most amazing thing they have ever seen.

This couple was amazing, so in love, so happy, and so fun. They have one of the most charming homes I’ve ever been in, and I cannot wait for the newborn session next month!

The Tooth Fairy – calgary child photographer

It’s been a big couple of years for my daughter Emma. Started school, making friends, learning to read. But the biggest thing for her has been losing her baby teeth. Her friends started losing their in kindergarden, and so the countdown begun. Murphy’s Law said that of course she wouldn’t lose a tooth until months and months later.

When she finally did, it was a really. big. deal. So I decided that the Tooth Fairy must write her a letter. A personalized letter that would rock her world. You can’t even imagine how surprised and excited she was to not only get money under her pillow, but a letter from the Tooth Fairy just for her! She even took it to school to show it off to all her friends.

This Is One Active Family – calgary family photography

This family and I had a bit of trouble coordinating our schedules! We rescheduled due to their youngest feeling under the weather, and then Mom and Dad were off to Vancouver for the 2010 Winter Olympics. (yes, they were at the Gold medal hockey game, and yes, I am very jealous).
We finally connected last week and I had such an awesome time hanging out with all of them. They are are a busy family, with 3 very busy kids. Each child has such a unique personality – with interests so encouraged by their parents that it made me proud to be invited to document their specialness.

I especially loved the quirky looks that these kids gave my camera (I was cracking up while looking at some of these), and they interest they showed everything throughout the photo session. While they may keep them on their toes, Mom and Dad can feel good about bringing up such amazing little people.

Claire’s Going To Be A Big Sister – Calgary maternity photography

I absolutely love this family! I’ve been able to photograph their first pregnancy, Claire’s newborn session, and then she was one of my little models for my March of Dimes shoot.

It’s such a delight to come back and help document this new little baby’s journey as well!

I just laughed so hard when I saw these two images. I asked her to listen to the baby . . . I wonder what she heard?

I think Claire is going to be a great big sister, she is really excited about the baby!

Calgary Baby Blogger’s Baby

A couple of weeks ago I was excited to head off to my newborn session, because the Mom was my daughter Emma’s first grade teacher until she went on maternity leave.
Emma absolutely loves her, loooooooooves her, so I knew she was going to be super sweet.
What I didn’t know, is that she is married to the very funny blogger of Calgarydaddy.com, a VERY proud Dad who is journaling all the fun times he’s having as a new dad.
It was a great session, lots of laughs, and baby Kyron is such a cutie and an amazing sleeper. He just let me do my thing and was happy as a clam.

Thanks for having me into your home, and Becky – a special thanks for being such a wonderful and caring teacher. You are someone whom I think Emma will remember for the rest of her life.
