Spoonful of Sugar Mini Sessions are BACK!

As most of you know, I’m taking off to Italy for the better part of September. Which couldn’t be worse timing business-wise because fall portrait season in Calgary is the busiest season of all. So to make sure I am able to fit all my clients in, I am opening up two full days of mini-sessions. This year there’s a choice to what kind of setting you’d like – on September 5th we are doing colorful and “urban” style sessions at Eau Claire Market and on October 3rd we’ll be at Baker Park for some beautiful and cool looking nature backgrounds. So choose the best date and session type for you and register now, spaces WILL go quickly! Spots have already been booked by newsletter recipients, so make sure you sign up if you want first crack at things like this!

Now, onto the details!
Each mini session lasts 20 minutes and you will receive a gallery of approximately 10-15 images.
The session fee is $250 and includes (drumroll please) ONE digital file of an image you choose!
Digital files are not usually sold individually and are priced as a set at $3500, so this is an AMAZING opportunity!
Prints, canvases, storyboards and holiday cards are also available at regular price, and a full set of digital files from your mini-session is $1250. It’s a great chance for a quick taste of the Fresh Sugar experience, great for family portraits, maternity images and child photographs! Just one (or two, I guess) to share before the weekend. I first met this little man last year at his newborn session, and it was so great to be able to see him again now that he’s one and all grown up, lol!

I’m reallllllly behind on the blogging, and I am so sorry to all my wonderful, patient clients that are waiting for sneak peeks. I will be working like a demon for the next week to get blog posts up, so stay tuned!

I love this family. LOVE them! I love when I run into them at the ballet, when we chat on Facebook, and especially when we have a session.
Bella obviously means the world to them, she is loved in a such a wonderful way. She’s a confident, beautiful young lady, and has a natural flair.
She is the most perfect little model one could ever hope for, with THE most gorgeous alabaster skin. Thanks again for such a fab day, and we’ll talk soon!

Did I mention she has flair? A flair for the dramatic, hahaha!

Ok, seriously. How smokin’ is he???? Love this one.

Friday Night in Inglewood

I don’t know how she does it, I honestly don’t. I spent the evening with a lovely mom of 4 – a 1 year old, 2.5 year old twins and a 5 year old. I know that it was the hardest I’ve worked for a session in a looooooong time, so I can’t even IMAGINE keeping up with the four of them on a daily basis! Superwoman, I tell ya! Between the chaos of having 4 small kids on a busy Inglewood street on a Friday night, we managed to have lots of fun and get some adorable images. I have my usual look for most of the gallery, but I’m sharing some moodier stuff here on the blog that just seemed to grab me.

Kids love me, they really do.

We had fun, I swear.

Even if it looks like they are trying to escape.

See, I'm not really so bad.

I can even be mildly amusing. Mildly.

Are you kidding me with those glasses? So freaking CUTE!

Even mosquitos want in on all the action. Maybe I can be Calgary's top mosquito photographer.

He’s one of my favorites

This year has been a banner year for repeat clients. I don’t think I’ve seen more previous clients than I have this year, and it’s wonderful! It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy because it means that they liked their experience (and me!) enough to come back.
This is the third session I’ve done of Mr. Walker here, and I swear he gets cuter every single time! The session was a father’s day gift, and dad wanted to have his mom in some of the photos too. This family unfortunately knows all too well how quickly life can change, and I really admire them for making sure they have their precious memories documented. It was a HOT day in Calgary when we did this session (remember those?) and we had such an amazing time walking through the park. I absolutely live for these sessions – where clients become friends and sessions become a lovely way to spend a morning.

July is completely booked, and August and September have only 2 spots left each. As always, if you are expecting a newborn, please contact me as I reserve space in my schedule for new little ones. You can also twist my rubber arm if you are interested in a summer evening session. LOL

Don’t Hate Her Because She’s Beautiful

I have been so super lucky to get the MOST beautiful pregnant ladies in Calgary as my clients. It’s so much fun, it’s like photographing models. (Which, yes – this particular client was, lol)
There’s something just so fantastic about a maternity session – the whole “you’re glowing” thing really isn’t a myth. This session was made even better because her husband couldn’t stop raving about her beauty.
What a wonderful home for a baby to be born into – where mom and dad and just so in love and happy. Thank you both for trusting me with your memories, I know how important they are to you.

Eeeek! I can’t wait for the newborn session!

Holy. Cow. This mom is GORGEOUS! I literally clapped my hands in glee when I saw her, lol! They also have an absolutely beautifully decorated home, so she’s talented as well as gorgeous. Not exactly fair, but she is just so darn sweet and polite you would never be able to hate her for it.
It was a wonderful Saturday spent photographing her belly and her family – and her little man was so well-behaved and adorable! Actually, her big man was too, lol.
Thank you so much for a fantabulous session Megan and family, and I am so super stoked to come back to meet the new little one very soon!

Newborn cuteness!

This little girl was absolutely SO sweet for our session. It was great meeting this new family of three, they are wonderful people with a very happy and relaxed laid-back attitude. What was the best part for me though, we how absolutely IN LOVE dad was with his wife and new daughter. I don’t know what’s going to happen to any boys that come knocking, because something tells me that daddy’s going to be protective. There’s just something so sweet about a big guy that is so gentle with this little bitty baby.

Oh my goodness, the cuteness!

I want to share so many images from this session, but Shannon has been waiting long enough for her sneak peek so these will have to due so I can get back to work on her gallery.
I loved, loved, loved this family and they loved, loved, loved each other. A big age gap between brother and sister, and I swear it makes me want to wait 15 years and have another baby just so my heart can melt at how sweet an older sibling can be with a new baby.
We headed on down to Eau Claire here in Calgary, and it was a gorgeous sunny day. What, you don’t remember what those are? Me neither, lol!
I love when clients are easy going and relaxed, and this family was perfect. They are all so adorable, I almost couldn’t stand the cuteness. It was such a happy-go-lucky day, and when they wanted to treat their little girl with her first ice cream cone after the session – I had to invite myself along to take pictures! She is a little rockstar, from her snappy little fingers down to her tiny painted toes. L.O.V.E. her!

Chase

I love this family! I first met them when Lauretta was pregnant last year, and now here’s our third session and Chase is a big ONE years old!
His crazy red hair is pretty much the cutest thing I’ve ever seen, I’m so tickled at how much he’s changed this past year.
I adore seeing my clients year after year, it’s the BEST feeling to catch up with them and help them capture the time passing so quickly.

I have some exciting news coming up, it may be tomorrow, but possibly Monday. It will be SOON though, and I’m super psyched about it! How’s that for a tease?
