About Brandy

Well hello there.

I’m Brandy Kane and I’ve been photographing kids in Calgary professionally for 14 years. My clients say that I capture the best of their children – happy, serious, silly and serene. Fresh Sugar Photography is special because I am devoted to making things look amazing.

I’m really, really good at looking at things on Pinterest. Great style thrills me. I buy home magazines like other people buy milk and just adore pretty things. New stuff makes my knees weak. I love trying out new apps, new makeup at Sephora, new books, new anything!

I think relaxing is pretty great. I really like my house and the people in it. That includes a Josh, an Emma, a Charlotte, a Max, and an Amelia!

Clients say I’m fun and funny (And sometimes funny-looking). My mom says I’m her favorite daughter. (I’m an only child). My friends like my taste in cocktails. Except for that birthday cake martini. (Sorry about that one, guys)

I’ve won some awards – first places from Wedding and Portrait Photographers International and the National Association of Child Photographers. I was also awarded the Fresh Face award from WPPI. My photographs have been on the covers of Calgary’s Child and Birthing magazines, been on American Baby and Redbook magazine’s websites as well as the cover of the novel Hooked by Catherine Greenman. I’ve done some commercial photography work for Little Soles footwear, the Calgary Epilepsy Association, Girl Gotch, the Alberta Children’s Hospital and I did a national campaign for the American March of Dimes. I even wrote for a book called Make Money With Your Digital Photography by Erin Manning.
