Two Photogs – For Photographers By Photographers

I am super excited to unveil a new venture – both personal and professional! I am starting a new blog along with one of my closest friends and most respected colleagues, Danna Bowes of Bowes Photography.
The blog is called Two Photogs, and we’ve started it for a few reasons. Firstly, we wanted a way to stretch ourselves creatively – a place to connect with other photographers, to challenge ourselves with different photo assignments. A joint venture for educating other photographers while still maintaining our own separate portrait businesses.
Secondly, we are two very different types of photographers, and people, lol! I am an on-location, natural light photographer who is for the most part self-taught. She is a photography school graduate who does mostly work in her studio.
My work is predominately in color, hers mainly in black and white. We wanted to have fun with sharing how different two different photographers can make the same subject look. We are both baby and child photographers here in Calgary.
Lastly, we both get a lot of requests for mentoring and inquiries about workshops. Super exciting – we are starting online mentoring in January 2010! It will include professional videos (we will be filming these shortly and are looking for models),
help on everything from style, creativity, lighting, marketing, branding, pricing, fusion video, etc. No topic will be off-limits! We’ll be sharing lots more info on the blog as it becomes available.
